Mother Nature continues to take its toll on the cattle industry. Farmers and ranchers in parts of Colorado, Kansas, Texas, and Oklahoma are now recovering from the aftermath
of late spring blizzards.
Staggering losses are being recorded after seven foot high snow drifts in Prowers and Baca counties. It’s estim
ated thousands of cattle were killed.
Affected ranchers may be able to recoup some of their losses through USDA’s Livestock Indemnity Program (LIP)
