Dairy farmers may be closer to having access to another income safety net, possibly by mid-2018. That’s according to Dave Natzke, editor of Progressive Dairy. This comes on the heels of the deadline to enroll in USDA’s Margin Protection Program.
Secretary Perdue is allowing producers to withdraw from the MPP Dairy Program and not pay the annual administrative fee for 2018. Natzke tells Dairy Radio Now that the program has been unpopular and there are other safety net options. Listen to to the complete interview with Dave Natzke here:
