Even with recent rain, drought conditions persist in parts of Oklahoma, Kansas and the Texas Panhandle. Texas A&M ag economist David Anderson tells American Cattle News that it has been so dry, Amarillo set a record for consecutive days with no precipitation, surpassing the drought of the 1930’s and 50’s.
“Droughts are in some ways one of the worst kind of weather disasters we face,” says Anderson. “I think those droughts are harder on people – every day you’re waking up in this drought.” Listen to his comments here:
