The first Federal Order Class I base milk price of 2023 was announced this week by the Agriculture Department at $22.41 per hundredweight, down 17 cents from December, lowest Class I since Feb. 2022, but is $2.70 above January 2022. It equates to $1.93 per gallon, up from $1.69 a year ago.
